NEW CASH COMMENTARY FOR THURSDAY, MAY 29TH, 2025

                                                                     CASH MICHAELS

THANKS FOR THE EVIDENCE

by Cash Michaels

Donald J. Trump is a straightforward, unabashed, card-carrying white supremacist!

How do I know? Simple. He keeps telling us every chance he gets.

Of course, there was his unhinged racist diatribe against the falsely accused five young New York teenagers of color known as the Central Park Five back in 1989. DNA evidence eventually and conclusively proved that none of them raped or beat a young white female jogger in Central Park, but that didn’t stop then prominent wealthy businessman Trump from taking out a full page ad in the NY Times adamantly calling for each of them to get the death penalty, even before a trial.

Mind you, this was the same celebrity real estate tycoon who, with his Ku Klux Klan-member daddy, Fred Trump, was cited by the US Justice Dept. in the late 1970s, for barring black tenants from his NY rental properties.

But of course, this pleasant look down Memory Lane wouldn’t be complete unless we added Trump’s disgusting words about illegal immigrants from Mexico “… bringing drugs…bringing crime….[and being] rapists” when he first announced for the presidency in 2015.

The relentless way he went after Pres. Barack Obama, falsely claiming that the nation's first black president was actually not an American citizen, and lied about his Harvard U education.

In a delicious retort, Obama promptly displayed his birth certificate, and publicly dismissed Trump as a "carnival barker."

And who could forget his cruel and bigoted diatribes against Haitians and Muslims?

But the unforgivable crap he pulled recently in the Oval Office ambushing the president of democratic South Africa in front of the White House press corps, falsely accusing the black South African government of committing genocide against its white ethnic minority Afrikaner farmers, for the purpose of confiscating their lands... that just takes the racist cake.

Let me make it clear - I am one of those freedom-loving people who has a very, very low tolerance for genocide being committed against any population. Certainly the tragic lessons of World War II, and Nazi regime madman Adolf Hitler’s extermination of six million Jews in his sick white supramacist campaign to ultimately rule the world, stands out in history as a prime example of why we can never allow anything close to that extreme crime against humanity to ever happen to any people, of any nation, ever again.

So for the so-called “leader” of the free world to openly and falsely accuse the president of another sovereign nation of racially wiping out a certain population - in this case white citizens - is a very serious charge. That’s calling someone “Adolf Hitler’ to his face.

Why would Trump do such a thing? Evidence suggests he’s trying to boost his cred as a white supremacist leader on the world stage. What’s shocking is how he will desperately, and shamefully, stop at nothing to do so.

It was May 21st when Trump hosted South African Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa and his delegation at the White House, under the guise of resetting the diplomatic relationship between the two nations and discussing trade.

Little did Ramaphosa know that Trump was setting him up, though it’s clear the South African head of state, having seen Trump misbehave with other foreign leaders in the Oval, suspected Trump capable of almost anything.

Customarily, when you get an invitation to the White House, presumably to cut a “let’s renew our friendship” trade deal, you come running, even if it is with Trump. Small nations like South Africa thrive on trade with China, the European Union and yes, the United States. South Africa, going back as far as the racist white apartheid regime, has been the source of precious minerals like diamonds larger nations covet for commerce and research.

So when the invite is issued, you normally show up with your guard down, and your hand out, ready to shake on an agreement.

But once Trump and his South African guest sat in the Oval Office, and media were invited in, things turned decidedly wrong. Trump introduced Ramaphosa as “controversial” in some quarters, and then proceeded to make the false allegation that his government allows the black persecution and murder of white South African farmers.

"You do allow them to take land, and then when they take the land, they kill the white farmer, and when they kill the white farmer, nothing happens to them," Trump charged a befuddled Ramaphosa with as a stunned White House press corps looked on.

To add insult to ultimate injury, Trump then told his aides to lower the lights, and called for a video to be played that showed a black South African activist demanding the death of white Afrikaner farmers.

“What you saw in the speeches that were being made—that is not government policy. We have a multiparty democracy in South Africa that allows people to express themselves,” Ramaphosa replied, explaining the hard rhetoric heard. “Our government policy is completely, completely against what he was saying.”

The video ended showing images of white crosses along a roadside, purportedly representing murdered white farmers.

Trump falsely claimed that the crosses were their graves.

Then Trump whipped out press clippings to back up his claims, reiterating that Ramaphosa’s black majority government confiscates the property of white Afrikaner farmers, forcing the South African president to deny every word out of Trump’s lying mouth.

For his part, Pres. Ramaphosa stayed relatively cool under fire, coming off as the adult in the room despite Trump’s antics. But there’s no question that Trump wanted the world to see him rhetorically stomp the black president.

Keep in mind that all of this drama came days after over 50 white Afrikaners, some with children, had been flown to the United States, and given the red carpet treatment by Trump Administration officials, under the guise of being fast-tracked political refugees supposedly escaping tyranny.

As an op-ed writer in The Hill put it, "It wasn’t a refugee arrival. It was a spectacle — a carefully staged, Hollywood-style production of resettlement."

"What we have seen in the case of the Afrikaners is a strategic, racialized provocation that twists the legal and moral foundations of refugee protections to serve a white nationalist agenda."

Those white "refugees" were an exception to the Trump administration’s overall refugee ban on other nations.

If you’re thinking that the fingerprints of infamous South African billionaire businessman and father of DOGE, Elon Musk, were all over this cheap ambush, well hell, he was right there in the Oval Office, grinning from ear-to-ear while it was going on.

It’s been reported that Musk is trying to muscle the South African government into approving his Starlink internet service. Apparently this sorry display was his way of playing hard ball.

The problem with Trump’s South African ambush is that it was long on bluster, but sorely short on facts. Fortunately, my colleagues in the White House press corps followed up on Trump’s allegations, and found the following:

One of the photos Trump displayed and claimed was evidence of white genocide in South Africa actually depicted Red Cross workers carrying body bags of women who had been raped and burned alive in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which is at war with Rwanda-backed rebels. Nothing to do with South Africa or white farmers.

That video portraying what Trump claimed were  “over 1,000 graves” of slain white Afrikaner farmers, actually was of symbolic crosses on a roadside from a memorial demonstration following the murder of a white farming couple, NOT actual graves. South Africa admittedly does have a terrible crime problem and high murder rate of blacks, whites and mixed race people.

According to Reuters News Service, South African police reported that eight white farmers were murdered in 2024. Tragic, but hardly genocide.

Indeed, international organizations and media have investigated false claims of systematic white genocide in South Africa for years, and have come up empty.

CNN reported that from April to December 2024, South African authorities say “…a total of 19,696 murders were committed in South Africa. Only 36 were committed on farms, and just seven victims were farmers. Official data is not broken down by race, so it is not known how many victims were white or black.”

But it should surprise no one that those in the far-right fringe white supremacist movement would exploit any white South African deaths as propaganda for their own gains.

` And it’s no wonder. As a result of the previous racist apartheid system, white Afrikaners are seven percent of South Africa’s population, but own an amazing 75% of the farmland, according to available South African statistics.

Farmland that was stolen from black South Africans during the white apartheid regime.

The black majority government passed a law last January to redress this outrageous land inequity, effectively allowing it to seize private property if it deemed necessary. Reportedly, that hasn’t happened yet. No land has been seized. Instead, the South African government is encouraging white farmers to sell their properties.

If Trump provided any evidence of anything at all in this whole tawdry display, it’s that he was more than willing to use the White House, our house, to promote a white supremacist lie. There can be no other reason.

Mind you, this is the same Pres. Donald Trump who just came back from a whirlwind trip to the Middle East, where he promised not to utter a word about the well-known human rights buses in countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar, just so that he could cut lucrative deals and pocket a free $400 million plane.

Hypocrisy reeks from that clown, but one thing is clear. Trump is at full-throated war with anything that even smacks of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion). That means when given the opportunity, he has to brandish his white supremacist credentials boldly and often.

He’s made it clear that he intends to wipe DEI off the face of the American map. So if he can pull that hat trick on the world stage by manhandling non-white nations like South Africa, Haiti and Venezuela, his perverted dream of world domination could come true, he hopes. Trump is fully devoted to diminishing anything or anybody that smacks of progress or authority for people of color anywhere.

Making false claims of white genocide against a majority black country. Sounds like the crackpot plot to a stupid espionage movie, but then, what is there about Donald Trump that isn’t crackpot?

So thanks for the evidence, King Donald. Not the BS you brandished in your transparent attempt to embarrass and belittle the South African president, but the clear evidence you unveiled proving that when it comes to being the world’s most powerful, prominent and delusional white supremacist, absolutely no one can pull the sheet off from around your head, Donald, like you.

No one!

THE CASH STUFF FOR THURSDAY, MAY 29TH, 2025

REBECCA BARBER

                                                            BISHOP WILLIAM BARBER

BISHOP BARBER DENIES

ALLEGATIONS BY FORMER

WIFE OF “MISUSE OF

NONPROFIT FUNDS”

By Cash Michaels

Contributing writer

A Raleigh television station last Friday was the first to report that Bishop William Barber, president of the nationally-known nonprofit social activism organization “Repairers of the Breach,” was accused “…of redirecting funds from his group for alimony payments and other personal uses” in post-divorce court documents filed in Durham County last week by his now former wife, Rebecca.

Through his attorney, Bishop Barber denies the allegation, and in a statement, the governing board of his Goldsboro-based organization called the allegation “baseless.”

Reportedly the couple formerly ended their marriage of nearly forty years last November, at which point, again per published reports, Bishop Barber remarried.

This allegation is the result, reportedly, of a failed effort last month through mediation for the former couple“…in an attempt to settle parts of the divorce, including alimony as well as how to split up their money and other marital property, a process called equitable distribution.”

Last Friday, WRAL-TV reported that according to those court filings, Rebecca Barber is alleging that Bishop Barber earns $225,000 in salary as head of the group, but that $7,000.00 per month “under the guise of alimony or financial support” has also been funneled to him.

She also alleges in this documents that “…millions of dollars in assets reported by the group ($8.3 million per the latest tax filings from 2023) should be fair game for her to take as part of the divorce”…because her former husband “…maintains de facto control over the financial accounts associated with Repairers of the Breach, Inc., thereby suggesting that Repairers of the Breach, Inc., is being used as an instrumentality of [William Barber’s] personal financial affairs. … Repairers of the Breach, Inc., is functionally an alter ego of [William Barber] and may possess or control assets that are marital in nature or otherwise relevant to this Court's equitable distribution determination.”

Rebecca Barber’s allegation adds that “…the group’s bank accounts have been so intermingled with hers and her ex-husband’s bank accounts that it needs to be considered as essentially a part of their marital property and therefore subject to being divvied up as part of their divorce.”

WRAL-TV added that “Rebecca Barber’s court filings don’t accuse William Barber or Repairers of the Breach of engaging in criminal conduct. But she says her claims “raise credible concerns regarding the misuse of nonprofit funds, improper financial disbursements, marital waste, and concealment of income.”

Bishop Barber’s attorney, Tamela Wallace, both interviewed with WRAL-TV and issued a statement:

“Reverend Barber categorically denies [the allegations],” Wallace said. “We believe the claims were filed for the sole purpose of gaining a tactical advantage in his pending property division litigation with his former spouse. We look forward to having these false allegations addressed in the proper forum, which is the court of law.”

The governing board of Repairers of the Breach issued a statement to WRAL-TV saying:

“The governing board of Repairers of the Breach is aware of baseless accusations against our organization in a civil property dispute between our president, William J. Barber II, and his former spouse. We have the greatest confidence in Rev. Barber and our organization. We trust the court to quickly resolve this issue and have no further comment.”

WRAL-TV reported that it attempted to contact Rebecca Barber’s attorney for comment, but was unsuccessful in that effort. But in her court filings, Ms. Barber’s attorney, who WRAL-TV did not identify, stated, “Fair and complete adjudication of the equitable distribution and spousal support issues in this matter cannot be achieved without examining and accounting for those assets,” Rebecca Barber wrote in a court filing.”

It was not generally, and certainly not publicly known that Bishop Barber, formally president of the North Carolina NAACP,  and his wife, had divorced last November, and that he had remarried. Those close to the couple expressed consternation over the WRAL report. Given Bishop Barber’s current effort to oppose the Trump Administration’s proposed cuts to social service federal funding which is currently pending in Congress, in addition to his continuing national movement for economic and racial justice, these allegations emanating from his divorce proceedings trouble many of his followers.

Bishop Barber is also co-convener of the national Poor People's Campaign.

SBI PROBING POWERFUL

BLACK DURHAM

POLITICAL COMMITTEE

By Cash Michaels

Contributing writer

Durham District Attorney Satana Deberry has asked the State Bureau of Investigation’s financial crimes unit to investigate allegations of fiscal embezzlement by past officer of the political action committee for the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People.

Former state Sen. Floyd McKissick, who took over as chairman of the committee last January, issued the following statement in response to the SBI probe: "We are optimistic that any person or persons that engaged in criminal wrongdoing will be held accountable, but we cannot discuss it any further because of an ongoing investigation, which we initiated, based upon the findings in a report prepared by a CPA."

Reportedly, that CPA was hired after “serious financial irregularities” were discovered last February after new officers took over leadership of the  PAC.

Published reports indicate a review of PAC’s bank statements revealed that there was a good deal of unauthorized personal spending being conducted, “ranging from expenditures at the beauty supply store to numerous PayPals.”

There were also allegedly tens of thousands of dollars that “appeared” to be paid out to friends of the former Durham Committee’s PAC chairperson.

In addition, it’s been alleged that fiscal reports submitted to the North Carolina Board of Elections did not accurately reflect the spending that was done from the PAC’s bank account.

This was concerning because of two contributions equalling $75,000 from the North Carolina Democratic Party to the Durham Committee’s PAC to help pay for political action activity right before the 2024 November general election.

According to its website, the Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People “…is a community-based organization founded in 1935. (DCABP Inc. (the 501(c)3 fiscal administrator and PAC of the Durham Committee established in 2014) works in cooperation with other public and private groups, to improve civic, cultural, economic, educational, health, housing, legal affairs, human rights and youth affairs conditions in this community.

Democratic candidates always seek the endorsement and influence of the Durham Committee at election time to ensure strong support of Durham’s black community.

NEW CASH COMMENTARY FOR THURSDAY, MAY 22, 2025

ELECTION LIES COMING TO A NORTH CAROLINA SCHOOL NEAR YOU

   by Cash Michaels

You know, there are times when I start to write a new column, that I feel just like Mafia gangster Michael Corleone in “Godfather III.”

I truly don’t want to mention the name “Trump” even once when I scribe my weekly opinion, but the harder I try not to do so, the most likely something happens concerning him that I just can’t ignore.

What’s that famous Al Pacino line from the movie? “Just when I thought I was out, they PULL me back in!”

Yep, this is one of those times.

As I’m writing this, I’m in New Haven, Connecticut for my youngest daughter’s graduation from Yale University. She’s worked hard these past four years for her BA, and has earned every accolade and honor coming to her. So her mother and I are extremely proud of her accomplishments.

Suffice it to say, given my purpose for being here, education is very much on my mind right now, and how important it always has been for inspired young people to achieve a good one as they continue through life.

So when, in the midst of my trip, I read that the Oklahoma state school superintendent is mandating that beginning next school year, all students there, K through 12, will study conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election, I was floored.

To be clear, state Supt. Ryan Walters is not pushing for Oklahoma students to learn about the big controversy concerning the 2020 presidential election that was quickly disproven, and why. A purely analytical social studies exercise would be too much to ask for!

No, Walters, a devout MAGA follower, wants all public school students in his state to be taught, and ultimately believe as fact, that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump by Joe Biden and the Democrats. And that Trump did not lose that election.

Apparently, this is all part of conservative Walters’ continuing campaign to wipe all “wokeness.” off the face of the planet.

Or at least wipe the part of the planet’s face that Oklahoma occupys.

“The left has been pushing left-wing indoctrination in the classroom,” Supt. Walters told the Associated Press. “We’re moving it back to actually understanding history ... and I’m unapologetic about that.”

Lord, please give me strength!

Further quoting from that alarming AP story about this foolishness:“The previous standard for studying the 2020 election merely said, “Examine issues related to the election of 2020 and its outcome.” The new version is more expansive: “Identify discrepancies in 2020 elections results by looking at graphs and other information, including the sudden halting of ballot-counting in select cities in key battleground states, the security risks of mail-in balloting, sudden batch dumps, an unforeseen record number of voters, and the unprecedented contradiction of ‘bellwether county’ trends.”

For the record - and honest election observers, legal experts and court judges have been through all this stuff since the Biden-Trump 2020 contest ended years ago - there is absolutely NO credible evidence of any malfeasance connected with that election.

Especially by Biden and the Democrats.

But that didn’t stop Trump from claiming so, even to this day, because the man simply can’t stand ever to be called a loser. The only way, according to mythology, that Trump can lose anything is if it were  “stolen” from him, as he has repeatedly reminded us.

Apparently, Supt. Walters is a true believer in that fairy tale…so much so that he wants to literally indoctrinate the children of Oklahoma with what ultimately amounts to a bald face lie about history.

The political word for this crap is "propaganda," but when it comes from Trump, it has a cheaper, darker, more sinister tone to it. Sinister because we know what King Trump is up to in his quest to rule everything that exists. Very sinister because I suspect that Ryan Walters is just the first of many MAGA elected officials across the country who will also try to pull the same stunt of indoctrinating children with the same false belief that their supreme leader was ripped off in 2020.

This is all part of the Project 2025 playbook. Kill programs that promote diversity, equity and inclusion; rewrite history every place you can so that you have a firm grip on the next generation of young minds (I think they call that brainwashing); and finally, promote the legacy of Donald J. Trump in every way you can, over all else.

That’s why scrubbing the history books of Joe Biden’s decisive 2020 victory over Trump is so vitally important to these folks.

         Charming!

And it’s also why l fully expect the Cracker Jack Republican retro-minds we have in our state legislature to attempt to pull the same stunt here. All they have to do is pass a law mandating that that lie be taught as fact from now on in North Carolina public schools .

Trust me, this is in the cards. Any political party that would pull the Jefferson Griffin stunt, followed by grabbing control of the state Board of Elections from the governor, is belly low enough to attempt this foolishness.

If anything, Republicans here are just waiting to see how the lawsuit against what Supt. Walters is doing in Oklahoma turns out. But once that’s settled, you can bet your bottom-dollar…assuming Trump’s tariff-inspired inflation leaves you any dollar - top or bottom- at all to bet, that we’ll see it here in the Old North State.

And if that happens, it will be another descent into the sad, sad, world of right-wing MAGA madness we all have to suffer through.

Election lies soon coming to a North Carolina school near you!

Gee, where is Michael Corleone when you need him most?
